Worcestershire Freemasons give £7000 to Midlands Air Ambulance
posted on 15 December 2019
Midlands Air Ambulance has recently expanded their fleet to include a fully equipped life saving 'Care Car' which can in some circumstances access incidents more rapidly or places otherwise inaccessible to helicopters.
Currently the Midlands Air Ambulance service choose not to fly helicopters at night as there is a good local road network and the roads are clearer at night and this is when the car really comes into its own. However, Critical Care Cars are also frequently used within the day to attend emergencies that are quicker to reach by road.
As with helicopters, the Critical Care Cars have highly trained medics on board who effectively bring emergency hospital care to the patient – providing vital medical intervention to them sooner. These are the things that can mean the difference between life and death so it’s important to choose the most suitable way of reaching those who need urgent help.
The sum include £1500 from the Provincial Lottery presented by W Bro Derek Taylor with matched funding from Masonic Charitable Foundation.
